Still basking in the glow from our studio blessing ceremony last night, I sat in meditation this morning and saw myself surrounded by beloved friends. I heard the words, "You are so loved". I understand this message to mean that I am always loved, even when I don't feel like it.
At the celebration last night, I reminisced that we had wanted to build this gathering place ever since we came to the Big Island three and a half years ago. We were about to get started on the project in the spring of 2018, when Pele made us put our plans on hold for the next half a year. We had to evacuate our newly built home and had to move six times within the next six months because of the proximity to the lava flow.
During our time as evacuees, Skip and I experienced so much love, kindness, and support from our friends and even total strangers. When people heard that we were from Leilani Estates, some even spontaneously broke out in tears of empathy. We knew that even though we were going through a very difficult time in our life, we were so loved and carried by the aloha spirit.
We felt the glow of love last night again, as we celebrated the opening of our newly built Maika'i healing and wellness studio. Our friends came and chanted with us, saturating the room with blessings. Everyone danced the hula to the song, E Malama E Ka Hei'au, asking the Universe to hold this land in sacredness.
Lest we get too caught up in everyday life and forget what's really important, we can think back to the beautiful people who shared so much Aloha with us in good times and bad and know that We Are So Loved. © Erika Marie Rose and Good Vibes, 2019
