In my meditation, I saw an image of a person whittling a piece of wood, and I heard the word, 'Creativity'. I understand this message to mean that when we are involved in creating something, we are very much in the present moment and open to inspiration.
I think back to the old days when people would sit out on their porches in the summer or at the fireplace in the winter and carve wood into beautiful creations. That was back when TV, the Internet, and social media didn't dominate our lives.
After a hard day's work, people would relax at home doing some kind of craft, like knitting or whittling. These are right-brained activities, in which our mind chatter is silenced, we are in the present moment, and we are receptive to inspirational ideas. We can hear our inner voice talking to us, giving us guidance as to what is right for us.
Nowadays, many people are caught up in the endless chatter of the media, which robs us of the quiet time we need to get in touch with ourselves. There is constant distraction vying for our attention, making sure that we don't get into a right-brained activity or a meditative state so that we lose our intuitive connection to our heart.
When we are being creative, and we're in our right brain, we can find it much easier to connect with our true essence.
