In my meditation today, I saw a picture of a white dove with an olive branch in its beak, and I heard the word, 'Peace'. After tuning in to this message, I understand that it is about Inner Peace.
But, just how do we obtain inner peace? To me, inner peace is a state of being, and it's the result of a combination of things.
First, when we are grateful, we can find a sense of peace. When we think about our life and are thankful for our loved ones, our health, our well-being, the work we do ... (the list goes on and on), we raise our energetic vibration.
Second, when our basic needs are met, we can experience inner peace. We can focus on doing things we love because we're not running around trying to find housing, worrying how we're going to pay the rent or where our next meal is going to come from.
Third, if we want to gain inner peace, we need to forgive ourselves for past mistakes and cut ourselves some slack. When we treat ourselves to a big dose of self-love and self-compassion and act like we're our own best friend, we take away a large stumbling block to serenity.
So, in sum, gratitude, having basic needs met, self-compassion, and self-love are the building blocks of inner peace.
